Here is the latest plunge into Pulp Alley from myself and my ally. As you will have seen from another post I have acquired for a short period of time a loan of one of my clubs terrain boards and will be hosting some Crime Alley games.
For the moment it will be G-Men versus Irish mobsters. The figures are from Blue Moon and I believe I obtained them from Old Glory US almost a decade ago, my how time flies. I had at the time every intention of expanding on an old TSR RPG called Gangbusters (see me below!).
As you will find with anything I do, I like to write up backgrounds for people that populate my worlds, even if they are brief, or nonsensical. I'll have a AAR up in the next day or two for the engagement between the SOU and the Irish Mob.
Cheers

Thaddeus is a man of with no

that He (that is Thaddeus) speaks with the authority of Him, get in His way,

Melvin ‘Kit’ Titmouse,
Field Supervisor
Son of a famous doctor often
mentioned by a certain Archie Goodwin on public radio and touted as the
youngest Field Supervisor in the Agencies brief history to date. Kit is stern, dedicated and known for his
occasional blind eye when his fellow Catholics are in trouble. This often gets him in trouble often as not
with his fellow agents as most of their troubles stem from crime related Irish
problems, and most of the Irish are Catholics.

Sherman A. Voorhees, Special
Agent
Sherman survived the Great War,
just. He copes with his demons from the
horrors of Europe and the trenches by hitting the bottle after working
hours. He only ever drinks outside work,
he drinks heavily, which means he’s a mean drunk, easily riled and often gets
into many a bar brawl. Only his badge,
his war record and medals have saved him from serving time. He doesn’t talk about how he got his Medal of
Honour.

Suave, sophisticated, ever the
ladies man. Never known to be lonely, if
the SAC needs to find a lead in King City, Forrest can find it. He’s never short for words, always able to
talk his way out of any situation, including a stint at desk duty. Forrest prefers to be out on the street,
being seen in his latest tailored suit, or on the arm of his latest gall. Life is never dull with Forrest.

Thurman D. Attridge,
Special Agent
There is and always will be a
plodder in any unit, the man destined to always remain an agent – and that man
is Thurman. He’s unimaginative, by the
book, but if you want a man who will stand by you when the bullets are flying
then he will be there. He will not run,
some say he doesn’t have the intelligence to, but that’s not true. He’s what the vast majority of the populace
is, hard working and loyal, he knows his place and accepts it.

Walter S. Coleson, Special Agent
Retired.
Walter is old, how old, well no one really knows. You see Walter is the Records Clerk and it
seems his records keep disappearing, or turn up with just the right details on
them, particularly the age component. The
janitor Chattanooga who says he’s in his seventies remembers as a rookie street
cop when he cleaned at the local precinct.
Walter’s eyesight may be off a bit, but when you use a shotgun you just
need to point and pull the trigger. The
teams backup when things get hairy.

THE SILVER SHILLELAGH MOB
Teague Flanagan, Mob
Boss
The Irish Mob with honour, they break your bones but not your families hearts. |
Teague is the Silver Shillelagh
Mob Boss for South Side, he runs the rackets with ruthless efficiency. In all his time as the Boss his mob have
never killed a man, sure they have sent many a man to the hospital, crippled
them, some permanently but never killed anyone, and never a cop. No one in the Mob is going to the chair or
swing for that, and the law knows his boys and in their own way acknowledges
them for this weird unspoken rule. He
only hires Irishmen, so he’s pretty sure he can trust his boys.

Brian Lynch
Brian is a typical Irish family
man, and has twelve children to support, which has reduced him to turning to
Teague for the odd job outside the 10 hour factory work he has to keep his head
above water. His knowledge of local
transport schedules and insider activity doesn’t go astray when the time
comes. His guilt does play on him, so he
is generally always found missing on a Sunday and can be found often in the
confessional with Fr Brannelly confessing the many sins he has committed.

twelve fold. A reprobate gambler, be it
horses, dogs, cards, dice, what colour dress the next moll walking round the
